Are there any free health clinics in boston...no insurance and need to see a doctor? |
i am new to boston and havent been able to sort out my medical insurance and stuff yet. I have a really bad cold and need to get it checked out....so is there a health clinic for low income/no insurance people in boston? You can go into any health clinic, pretty much, because if you're not working you'll be qulified for free care. I'd go to Boston Medical Center and get on the Health Net plan there, also. You could try the Boston Medical CEnter in the South End or perhaps the Fenway Community health center. You should also look into Mass Health for help with health costs. Try Mass General Hospital. They have a walk in clinic that is open daily as well as weekends. I know they have free insurance. It all depends on how much you make. They pro rate it to your salary. not sure. the united states is a big piece of crap country when it comes to health care though. good luck. if you just have a cold, i'd say tough it out. they go away on their own and a doctor can't do much for it. |
