Does anyone know a source for finding out the average health and benefit insurance brokers' commission in CA, IL, MN, NY, AR, MS and nationally? I heard that some insurance brokers charge both traditional commissions and agency fee. Are commissions typically 2%-5%. Thanks.
Are you talking about people who work for other agencies, or people who own their own? First year commissions, or continuing commissions?
Most states do NOT allow you to charge BOTH a fee, AND commission - but many agents are moving to flat fee basis for commercial accounts, and writing the policies at 0 commission.
