What is the best health insurance for the self employed? (and cheapest)? |
What is the best health insurance for the self employed? (and cheapest)? Each plan is different and each person is different. What may be the best plan for you may not be the best plan for me. You will want to visit a local independent agent who can shop the market for you and find the best and most reasonable plan for your situation. This person knows the plans that are available in your area. I would caution you to stay away from the plans that advertise "affordable group plans for the self employed". These plans have very strict limitations to what they pay out such as they only pay $400 per day for hospital charges. These plans also have a deductible that is per occurrence This means if you go into the hospital three times in a year you have three deductibles. With most plans you only have one deductible. Also stay away from medical discount plans. The people that sell these plans do not need an insurance license and most know very little about the market. If you are tempted to get on one get a list of doctors that supposedly accept the plan and give several a call to see if they're still taking the plan. Most doctors on the provider list have never heard of the plan. If you find one that does ask him w Source(s): Independent Agent I like www.healthnet.com. Good luck finding a cheap one, when you do, let me know. try this please http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-1748196-103... |
