How can a person with no health insurance get treated for depression?

How can a person with no health insurance get treated for depression?

At times there are Medical Professionals willing to work on a "sliding scale". You may want to call around and ask if anyone in your area is willing to do so. This would mean that they would take quite a bit less than normal based on your income.

There are also clinical Professionals who occasionally run studies and ask for Participants who would be willing to volunteer in exchange for treatment.

Even if you are not religous, there are opportunities within certain Churches to get counseling. Many of them now have counseling centers especially for those people who can not afford it.

Have you also tried applying for medicaid or some alternative health coverage?

It is a shame that you should go without valuable treatment because of your situation. The world would be such a better place health-wise, family-wise, even crime-wise, if those who needed help were able to get it.

I wish you the best. Keep searching. Source(s): Life
There are state and county mental health facilities. They will see you with no insurance. Look in the phone book, maybe try under "Health Department" and then look under "Mental Health."
Clinics, and Mental Health Centers treat according to income, they can get you a medical card as well.
this question would illicit more responses in the Mental Health section. There are usually clinics you can go to that will offer some sort of mental health couseling. A lot of mental health professionals operate on a sliding scale as well, if you can show a financial need for a lower rate and a real need for treatment they may agree to see you at a lower cost.
I don't know the area in which you live but you can check with your local social services department and they should be able to help you. There should be places you can go and get treated that bases the payment on your income. The town I'm from are full of them!! I know some people who go for free..So call today and check it out!!
Look to see if there are free clinics in your area. Go online to the major drug companies. Just about all of them have programs that you sign up for that give you drastically discounted medications. Also try to be put on a medication that offers a generic version so that it is less expensive. If you feel really down and fear harming yourself, go to your local ER for crisis treatment and then apply to the hospital for charity care. No hospital can turn you away for your inability to pay for care.
