I just got some health insurance and need some help? |
so i got some limited health insurance from my employer (aetna). i'm about to make an appointment with a doctor for a regular checkup. what're claims and do i need to keep any files or can i just go to the doctor and not worry about anything? thanks guys! It all depends on the type of insurance contract your employer has. Most now use some type of 'managed care' provider, PPO or HMO. Usually, you just pay a small co-pay (maybe $20.00) at each visit. Some employers still have the traditional 'indemnity' type insurance, but usually the doctor's office will submit your claim for you, and then bill you for anything the insurance company doesn't pay. Make sure the office you're making the appointment with accepts that insurance. Not much to worry about after that, go to doctor, pay the co-pay and the office will bill the insurance for you. |
