How much should health insurance cost me monthly,Im 42,working for large retail company, thru them!? It depends on where geographically you are, and if the company is paying a portion of the benefit. It also depends on the deductible that is in place, what your co-pay is, and if its an HMO, PPO, or another kind of plan. Very difficult to tell, however, if you're paying over $1,000 per month its pretty safe to say you're picking up 100% of the cost. Closer to $100 per month, and you're likely getting an ok deal. Have a look at others in the area and you'll get an idea. Also, if you want to, take a look at the insurance website, or go to einurance.com (I think - you may want to google brokers also) just to get an idea of the marketplace. Source(s): Working for a Blue Cross company and as a Healthcare Admin for a chemical company. Generally, your age range is going to cost about $400 a month, I'm not counting a family plan, just an individual. How much your employer picks up is a completely different matter. Some employers pick up none of it, some pick up a percentage, some a flat dollar amount - it varies wildly. I'd say the majority of employers probably pay about half. agent, 21+ years |
