How much does the fed gov spend (its contribution) on its employees' healthcare insurance? |
Total contributions including employee contributions, total Federal employees, and total Federal employees covered under Fed government insurance are helpful. Very little. I dont know the actual percentage, but I can tell you as an ex federal employee I had $126.00 withheld per paycheck for health insurance. I don't consider that a small amount. I think you might be looking for a different answer that the way you asked it. This is a budget number in the billions of dollars. The federal government is self-insured for its employees healthcare....so it doesn't really 'contribute' toward its employees insurance....it IS the insurer....so what really happens is the employee pays some of the costs and then the government just picks up the cost of the healthcare as a budget item. |
