In Tx they sell a product called United American. It is a good product as a malady plan (people that can not qualify for major medical). They sell it to healthy people. (not a good plan for healthy people) You are also a captive agent, meaning that you can not sell for other companies. You need to do comparisons like you would if you were buying the insurance and decide if you would purchase it for your own family. You might want to check out www.byoib.com
Farm and Ranch Healthcare is an insurance agency. They also sell major medical through Assurant, which is a great product for healthly people. All in all, they have a full line of health insurance products. Yes, they are a captive agent. I would never go captive. If you are considering them, read their contract very carefully. They have a non-compete clause that last for up to two years (I think). Plus if you quit, you could lose some unearned commissions. These are some hard questions you have to ask to person who is recruiting you. But I would never go captive. Learn it on your own, do it on your own. Yes, it's harder, but there is more reward later on.
