Is ps family healthcare non insurance a good idea?

This is a provider of particpating hospitals, docors, pharmacies within a 15 mile radius of your address that will give 20 to 50 % discounts. This is non insurance and the monthly rate is $59.63. Has anyone used any thing like this and what did you think of it?

You're right, it's not insurance. Why do you need to pay them to get you discounts? You can see any doctor and ask them what the cash price is. They will give you a discount if you pay cash.

Most insurance agents do not like this type of program for many reasons, mostly because the people who sell them are not trained or licensed to do so. It is typically a MLM scheme that runs out of gas after a few months at some level. They run through people and you have no contact to help if you run into problems.

Find a licensed insurance agent and let them help you find a solution to your healthcare needs. Source(s): Certified Insurance Consultant, Life/Health - Connecticut
I think its awful, personally... Even if you get 50% off a 3 night hospital bill, its still way too much for most people, i know I couldn't afford it. (That's still not considering all the doctor's who treat you while you're in the hospital)

Save the money, and put it towards an actual health insurance policy.
