Why Do Conservatives Like Insurance Companies Running Their Healthcare?

"When Elizabeth Hilsabeck gave birth to premature twins in Austin, Texas, she encountered another kind of insanity. Again, she was insured -- through her husband, who had a good job in banking. But the twins were born when she was barely six months pregnant, and the boy, Parker, developed cerebral palsy. The doctors recommended physical therapy to build up muscle strength and give the boy a fighting chance of learning to walk, but her managed health provider refused to cover it.

The crazy bureaucratic logic was that the policy covered only "rehabilitative" therapy - in other words, teaching a patient a physical skill that has been lost. Since Parker had never walked, the therapy was in essence teaching him a new skill and therefore did not qualify. The Hilsabecks railed, protested, won some small reprieves, but ended up selling their home and moving into a trailer to cover their costs."

The key words are 'For-profit'
Health care isn't about healing the sick in a for profit environment. Its about getting you to shut up and go away quickly and cheaply.
that was their cross to bear. How should that be my burden? I wish I were as rich at you to not notice another 25-30% taken out of my take home.
because our tax dollars are not paying for it and we have the best health care system in the world. Just ask all the Canadians coming here to get timely care
I agree to some extent that some insurance policies are bogus. That's why it's important to read the darn thing before you take one on. Most companies are scam artists and they'll always try to find a loophole out of paying.

But, I'd rather have insurance companies being in charge of health care rather than some government bean counter. If you think insurance companies are stingy, you haven't seen anything yet. If Hillary gets her way and the government takes over, our health care system is going to be like a third world country.
Perhaps this will provide some answers -

Also - note that Hillary has known for years that she was running for prez - and has had 15 years to produce a healthcare plan - but still hasn't delivered one.
According to Paul Krugman - Edwards has the best universal healthcare plan - and Obama's isn't a UHC plan but at least he's provided something. Hillary still hasn't provided a plan.

Insurance industry is donating heavily to Hillary -

Just ask the thousands of Canadians that cross over t the US and pay for their healthcare up front rather than go to Canadian Doctors.

Sorry, but If I want the Govt. to take care of everything in my life, I will move to a Socialist Country. The problem is, the people that live their are getting fed up with the Socialists and voting them out of Office.

Think for a moment, can you think of any Govt. organization that operates efficently with out waste and bureaucracy and is pleasant to deal with? And how or why would this change if the Govt. took over the healthcare system?

The movie reviewer of FOX news may have liked the Movie but not everyone at FOX is conservative either.
Conservatives do not necessarily like insurance companies running health care.
But many of us have see what happens when the government gets involved in health care.
The US has many VA and military hospitals.
As a soldier I went to one in North Carolina.
I had driven my sergeant who had injured his foot.
We were forced to walk back and forth between different clerks to get the correct forms filled out.
When we finally had all the forms filled out we sat for approximately two hours in one waiting room the fro another hour in an other waiting room.

While we waited I observed a veteran that was obviously in his 70's using a cane with his wife supporting him getting off the elevator.
One of the clerks yelled at them stating that they should have taken the stairs.
This doesn鈥檛 sound very reasonable to me.
Before we even made it to the second waiting room a patient collapsed in the second waiting room having a heart attack.
A code blue was sounded but no one came for several minutes.
A supervisor finally showed up and chewed the staff out for not reacting faster to the alarm.

I am not saying all military or VA hospitals are bad.
Some of them are among the best in the world but some are among the worst.

This doesn鈥檛 even mention the fact that when ever the government attempts to run anything it drives the cost through the roof.

The real solution is not for government to run health care but for them to find a way that more Americans can afford it.

PS. Only patients and doctors should run health care.
