Does an ATV get put under homeowner's insurance or under auto insurance? |
My current company said they were going to drop my policy because underwriting wouldn't accept the ATV...now what do I do??? I know Geico sells ATV collision, comprehensive, and collision just like for automobiles. If you don't have this kind of coverage, your homeowners insurance would cover your ATV if it were stolen or destroyed while on your property. Maybe even off your property too. Check with your insurance company. Policies and coverage vary. You have to get a seperate policy for the ATV....... I have a 2005 Brute force 750 4X4, And a sport quad, they have to both have seperate policies. You can get specialty insurance. Also, find out if you remove the ATV, if they will NOT cancel (non-renew) the home. If they are going to cancel the home insurance anyway, you might as well find a company that will take everything. You can contact your nearest ATV dealer and ask them what companies sell insurance for your ATV It goes under neither. You have to purchase a seperate policy for ATV's. It doesn't go under your auto b/c it doesn't meet the definition of a "motor vehicle" as defined in your policy. Look it up. Neither. Homeowners doesn't usually cover motorized recreational vehicles and auto insurance doesn't cover it because you can't license it for highway use. There are special policies out there specifically for unlicensed recreational vehicles. |
