Will my new homeowners insurance pay for the replacement of my garage door opener? I bought my home 6 months ago and the garage door opener stopped working about a week ago.
More than likely not. Unless a tree fell on it. Have you changed the batteries? Have you made sure it is in gear, and no one disabled it by pulling the little cord? I would call a Sears repairman and have them look at it. This is what is covered.... wiring, motor, switches, receiver unit and track drie assembly. What is not covered is the actual garage door, hinges, springs, rollors, guides, and remote transmitters. Hopefully they could fix it without you paying anything but your service fee and that should be around 40-80 dollars per call.
