Do homeowners insurance policy's cover dog bites?

Do homeowners insurance policy's cover dog bites?

Most of the time.

Actually, it's a great arguement from an insurance company (which I have never heard), because the liability section reads, we do not cover expected or intended injury. So if you have a dog that bites, you EXPECT that injury, don't you? But I've never seen an insurance company use that - mostly, because in court it would go against them all the time.

Anyway. There is an ISO dog bite exclusion out there, but MOST insurance companies won't add it to their policy. Foremost Insurance will. Most insurance companies, however, will refuse to insure you if you have a prohibited breed dog, and if you have one and lie on your application, they will deny the claim.

If you have a dog that's already BITTEN someone, not even Foremost will allow the dog bite exclusion. Source(s): agent, 20+ years
Some do. Check with your insurance agent. I had my dog specifically put on my policy for that reason.
Yes. Call your agent.
Personal liability - they may try to deny at first, because in order for them to cover, you have to PROVE the liability existed - IE, the owner knew the dog had a habit of biting, plus, if the homeowner did not inform the company of ownership of the dog, they could deny coverage as well.
