Does the insurance company that offers a general liability policy care about the homeowners insurance? |
Or vice versa. I have a home based business where no business actually takes place in the home but my address for the general liability policy is the home address. Will the general liability need proof of homeowners or will homeowners need info on general liability? If none of the business takes place in the home will the homeowners insurance company have a problem? The homeowners carrier cares about any kind of business in the home that might adversely affect their risk. But if you're only using the home as a mailing address, then neither of them will care. Source(s): agent, 21+ years too be perfectly honest this is a question better answered by your insurance agent who knows your situation and current coverages. becareful running a home business without the proper commercial insurance coverages. If there is a claim on the property insurance (house) and it's determined it was caused partially or wholly by something related to your business they can deny the claim. They can also refuse to cover certain things (such as a computer etc) if it's determined they are used soley for business rather than personal. Also if you are doing business travel with your vehicle - you should look at your auto insurance as well to make sure everything is properly covered. Really though the best advice is talk to your insurance agent. I found this http://geobay.com/ad91a9 article it should answer your question it has some good information on home insurance and how to find good deals. |
