Rural areas have different requirements. It may not be written in the laws, but putting up a fence is in your best interest. If you have no neighbors close by there is little danger of someone falling in the pool. But have you ever tried to get a cow or horse out of a pool? It ain't easy! Most insurance companies would require it. If on the slim chance that yours does not, I would definately get one anyway. You are opening yourself up to a major liability issue.
