Is anyone else out there having homeowners insurance issues?

my rates have gone up 200% because i live in the hurricane area

me too. since i have been here 2.5 yrs 2 big jumps
1000.00 yrly to 1900.
I've heard this. Our rates are staying the same inland.
Poor baby, move to Illinois
Texas Governor promised relief, well mine has gone up with less coverage. Have been lucky no storms in this area, but mine was raised when California earthquake "due to natural diseaster" Of course Texas had a hurricaine so even though I live 400 miles away from storm area "due to natural diseaster" up goes my Insurance.
They are the first ones to raise you if you have an inconvenience. The first ones to drop you if you need to collect money. The last ones to pay you if you actually require their services. Your options are to not get hurricane insurance (not recommended) or look around for other insurance companies. My parents were dropped from their home and auto insurance when they had a fire in their home - they had to get a lawyer to fight for the money and it was just a big joke. What's the purpose of having insurance if they're not going to do their job when you have a problem?
