Is there a way to find out a persons homeowners insurance? |
My daughter broke her arm at daycare. It turns out the lady doesn't have liability insurance. She refuses responsibility and won't give me info. Is there a way to find out her homeowners insurance carrier? (This is in KS) Well unless she has a business attachment to her homeowners they will not pay for any injury done at the home for a daycare. Only covers guest, not customers, she would have had to pay an additonal premuim to have coverage for a buisness on her homeowners. Next if the day care was at fault just sue her, small claims court will be fine, if she has any insurance, she will turn it over to them, if not, you will win a judgement against her. Of course there has to be some fault or neglect, if your daughter merely feel or had an accidnet not the daycares fault, they are not really liable for anything sure, sue her and then you can ask her to identify her carrier .... in some states you may be able to get this kind of information before filing suit best bet is to call a couple of lawyers and ask ... this is the kind of question they probably WILL answer on the phone but recall the previous advice here ... there has to be some fault or you're not going to recover anything Your best option would be to file suit against her. Her homeowner's insurance might pay out in the trial, though that's unlikely. |
