Is any one in Texas having trouble finding good rates on Homeowners insurance too? I think that you will find that we are all in the same boat here. The city of Houston plus many other cities here as well have been flooded so many times. this past Monday was a good example. Too many homes here have suffered flood damage...and cars as well. Best of luck on finding a decent home owners rate! Yes, our rates are high to pay for hurricane damage in other states. I am with Allied Inc Professionals. Not sure where you located and how large of a home you have, but I pay for my 2000sqf/3 bedroom house in Katy a little over $800 a year. I find that very reasonable, plus I get my car ins. discounted. 713-451-2277 I don't remember who the guy was I talked to though. Oh don't get me started lol. The problem isn't finding a good rate, it's in finding a good agent lol. I went online to a few sites that let agents bid for your business. About the 5th phone call I got, the woman asked me what was the lowest rate I'd received so far, I gave her the answer and she was able to come up with a lower plan, so I went with her. So very sorry I did too! They never got my payments on time, and my insurance was cancelled twice for non-payment, even though I'd paid a month in advance! They kept insisting I had to sign a waiver disclosure on a dog I didn't own! The agent's adjuster had the wrong address and wanted me to sign something on the neighbor's pit bull! So go ahead and get the lowest price, but be very very very careful on who you get as an agent. NO BUT I DO KNOW HORACE MANN INS.
