My friend got bit by my german shepherd and is going after my homeowners insurance, two things:?

we are on a land contract and homeowners insurance is under owner of home, secondly we tried to settle with her ie pay for time off work. now she wants us to give her money on wed and states will pay us back when she gets her insurance check. isn't that insurance fraud??

Don't give her a penny and let the insurance company handle it!
Let the insurance company handle everything, including payment.
That is not a friend
Did she provoke the dog to attack?
Depending on how bad this bite was is what you would be required to pay. I am not sure if she can go after a home owners policy if its not in your name. Technically the home owner protects the home owner which is not you until you full-fill your land contract agreement. I would call an attorney in this case. If it was a minor bite you would probably only be required to pay her medical bills and something in pain and suffering. How bad was the bite, How many days did she take off from work?

As for giving her money and waiting for her to pay you back.. I wouldn't.
get rid of the friend and keep the dog
Let your insurance handle it.
How bad of a bite was it? Was it just a little nip or a major bite? And did she do anything to provoke the dog? If so had you warned her in the past about the dog and not teasing it?
Regardless shes not your friend at all if shes trying to get money out of you.
I wouldnt give her a dime.
these are all pretty good answers, I would add that you should contact your insurance representative and have them get involved.BUT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES PAY HER OFF, HOW DO YOU KNOW SHE WILL PAY YOU BACK???
