My cat jumped me, knocking me to the floor, breaking my arm, Can I use my homeowners insurance to cover this? |
My cat has gone crazy lately .. always jumping on my shoulder when I walk in the door ... this latest time, he jumped me from behind, causing me to lose my balance and fall to the ground. What if I say something else happened ... will my homeowners policy cover it? They cover dog bites, right? So why not cat attacks? LOL, that's too funny of a story! Looks like all of the Insurance Adjusters have answered. They are right. No medical coverage for you under your Homeowners policy. Look on the bright side, if your cat tackles a friend, they would be covered for medical and possibly liability since you knew of a prior existing condition (-: If you file against your homeowners (or anyone does for that matter) they will more then likely pay the claim and then they will cancel you and you will have a horrible time trying to get re-insured and you will pay much higher for the same insurance. If you can't get re-insured (which is possible, depending on your last claim amount circumstances etc.) your bank will for close on your mortgage for failing to insure their investment which was part of the mortgage deal you signed when you got the house. So you either pay for your own loss now, or through the insurance premiums it's too much aggravation suck it up and deal with it...trust me on this one. That must be one he** of a cat ! You would have to read your insurance policy but I sort of doubt it. If it was a neighbor or something maybe. I think I would get rid of that cat !!! Your home insurance does not cover injury to yourself. If you read the exclusions, it will exclude the insured, a spouse or child of the insured. it's mean to cover negligence to someone who's on your property but not belonging to your family. insurance broker Your policy does not cover you for things like this. If I were at your house and it happened to me there would be coverage for me but not for you. Agent. |
