Can I claim off my house insurance for a new central heating?

Boiler is finished and emerson heater needs replaceing .
Can I claim off house insurance for work to be done.

I was talking to a broker once, and asked a similar question,. His reply was concise, and goes as follows ....... It is not up to the Insurance Company to make your house better than it had been a week ago, If you had wanted this facility, you should have taken out a maintenance contract with a heating contractor.
Problably not off insurance, but on taxes up to 500. Save receipt for tax purposes or call a CPA.
Not unless it was ruined by a natural disaster. Flood, lightening, vandalism.
no house insurance has nothing to do with your boiler.
Very likely your insurance will only pay for a current, equivilant replacement unit. They should pay you full value of the replacement (less any deductible), as long as you only replace it. Some policies, however will allow you to settle for a cash payout, which is less than the full replacement costs, but you can do what you want with this cash.
Not under a normal house insurance policy - unless the boiler/ immersion heater were damaged by an 'insured peril'.

Insurance is NOT a maintenance contract.
