How much tax i have to pay if i import a used car in bangladesh for my personal use? |
i'm living in bangladesh and i want to import a car direct from japan for my personal use. but before that i would like to know the tax percentage for used car and for brand new car as well. If you have read the current Budget proposal for the FY 2007-08 then you may notice that the reconditioned (used) Car Dealers / Agents have been proposed to get better 'discount' to their customers. You would not get this advantage if you do self-import. This would be the reason for you to import through any local agent / dealer in Bangladesh. You may save money if you Import new cars since the above mentioned discount is not applicable in that case. However, it is seen that somehow the local agents of the (new) cars could offer better price than the Principal Company would offer you, for obvious reason to keep their D/Ds network intact and functioning professionally. All the luck with your new purchase! Check with customs. And will it meet US emission standards? |
