I get council tax benefit because I am on a very low income can? |
they stop my council tax benefit if I choose not to claim other benefits. I can manage ok on the little money that I live on. why should I be forced to go through the stressful hoops of applying for benefits that I don't want or need. I don't think so, but I would urge to claim your entitlements, government sets this money aside and some of it goes unclaimed. Paying your taxes and National Insurance means you are entitled to these benefits, they are your right. I completely agree with you that the application procedure that applicants are made to go through are ridiculous and overly long and complicated. A welfare rights advisor from CAB would be able to help if you needed it. I hope you don't lose any CT benefit, but for more details about lots of things, as well as benefits and entitlements, have a look on www.directgov.gov.uk it's an excellent website. Good luck! a refreshing take on the system more people like you and the polatitian could have even more wages while taking a penny of single parents I don't see that they can. They assess it on what you get, not what you could get. Of course, not all benefits get taken into account anyway. Maybe you should get individual advice from CAB ? i wouldnt think so, but i know income support automatically qualifies you for housing and council tax benefit, but regardless of whether you claim or not, if you can prove you have a low income then i think they will still continue to cover your housing and council tax. CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT better still call your member of parliament |
