Is it true Universal Health care will cost us 20% of our income in taxes? Heard this and didn't know if true. Well the income tax of other countries that already have universal health care is more than that. FYI, there is a proposal in the Wisconsin state legislature RIGHT NOW to initiate universal health care in that state. It is projected on their website 20% of family income BEFORE federal income taxes will go toward paying for this plan ... that 30% increases in payroll taxes per employee will be payed by employers ... that it will cost $15.2 BILLION a year (or $510 / month increase per family) in taxes. And remember ... this is only their current projections. When has the government ever accurately projected the cost of a new program? And remember this is the cost for ONLY ONE STATE. Its never going to happen so the answer is NO. We already have the best health care in the world. Not even the Democrats are crazy enough to pass Hillarycare. I was sick with no insurance and I got everything I needed and now I am on a payment plan. I have been told I could literally pay them just a dollar a month and I still won't get reported to the credit agency. Don't fix whats not broken. The data I have looked at suggests that taxes would have be effectively doubled to accomodate this nightmarish program For example, if you now pay 25% of your income in taxes, it would go up to 50%. If you now pay 35%, it would increase to 70%, and so forth... Let us hope this is something that never visits itself upon our nation probably only for the highest earners but i think 20% is a scaremongering amount It could even be much larger than that. And even if it is as low as 20% that would still be 20% your normal income tax plus all the other taxes. I mean how do you think the government would get the money to pay for your health care? magic? and the money that the government would be giving the doctors would barely even cover the overhead charges of the medical staff. Socialized medicine is a terrible idea because 1) you are giving a ton of your money over to the government (which is notoriously bad at handling your money) 2) If you need to see a doctor you have to wait 2-3 months. 3) No one wants to become a doctor because you can't make money doing it bc the government is controlling how much money to give to doctors, which violates free market principals. 4) less doctors mean you have to wait longer for a procedure, and the quality of doctors has gone down because the medical schools will accept anyone because they need tuition money to keep the schools running. its just stupid How much do people pay for ins. now? Along with co-payments? Put that all together, and it is more than Uni-Care will cost you and everybody. How much does that free fire care cost ya? Not for everyone. Those who make more will have to pay more, but that's the way it's supposed to be. Besides, we need to do something about health care other than letting it fall apart totally. But the Republicans through word and deed have shown that they're fine if it does so. |
