Will there ever be a change in the income tax system? |
Do you think they will ever get rid of the income tax system? If so...when do you predict it to be...10 years, 20 years? I would much rather have the Fair Tax Act passed or maybe even the flat tax rate. I'm not asking if you agree with me or not because I could care less, I'm asking if you think there will be a change in the system any time soon. There BETTER be a change that eliminates (or significantly raises) the AMT. It was made to tax the rich. However, there have been some articles in the last few months that say the # of people that are going to be hit by that thing is going to EXPLODE! As for flat tax or something, I don't think you could get enough people to agree on any change...even if they know SOME change needs to be done. Unfortunately, our government has become a "same-difference" situation. Both Republicans and Democrats have raised taxes. Libertarians believe in removing laws and lowering taxes, but they haven't been able to get enough followers. Unfortunately Rep's and Dem's have put the "throw away your vote" fear into the hearts of the apathetic public. (One of the few fights both parties can agree on.) Will there ever be a change in the income tax system? Yes! If the Dems get in you will pay more! It will take a Democrat to make that change. The Republicans are not going to do it. I believe there will be a change in the 10-15 year range. A lot depends on the candidates. Some of the republican's back the fairtax which helps. Electing someone for president like Mike Huckabee would speed the process up greatly. If more dems are put in power, we will have to wait a long time because they rely on hidden taxes as a way to drain money from the economy behind the scenes to use for buying votes. I hope that the fair tax act that is in legislation will pass. Ridding the world of the IRS. no, they like milking you dry way to much. |
