Do away with income tax.......? |
There is a candidate for President who proposes to do away with income tax. All to be paid be sales tax. Who is he and can you tell me of his platform? I can't say about any individual candidate. Look for their position on the FairTax. This is a proposal to replace the income tax with a national consumption tax and repeal the 16th amendment. There is a 'Presidential scorecard' section on the website linked below. Edit: 7 of the 10 GOP candidates are listed as supporting this plan. 2 are actually co-sponsors in the House. Only 1 Democrat is listed on the page. Source(s): http://www.fairtax.org/site/pageserver... My husband says his name Ron Paul, congressman from Texas. Jennifer The rich should pay less and the poor should pay more. Ron Paul has voice support for a national sales tax. Switching from our current system to a national sales tax would be a disaster for the economy. Luckily, he is currently polling aroung 1%. He has also made some comments about 9/11 and the War on Terror (or Tear as W calls it) that are basically true but they have ruffled the feathers of the Republican establishment so they will do everything they can to make sure that he doesn't win. He's an idiot who wants to give the wealthy a massive tax break at the expense of the poor and middle class. For this reason alone he has virtually zero chance of ever being elected. Classic case of political suicide if you ask me, but it takes all sorts... income tax in its true form does not benefit and of you. it does not support schools and build roads or does it even put food on your table. income tax is a war tax and is been that way since abraham lincoln. x % goes to war x % goes to debt of war. it is a federal branch but the irs is a private company. |
