Have you ever cheated on your income taxes?

How did you do it? Did you get caught? Do you think you will get caught? Do you feel guilty or naughty?

I did take a course so that I could prepare individual income tax returns, and I learned about the ways I can 'manipulate' the tax system to my benefit without cheating; like planning to attend school in a year that I may not be able to claim a child turning 17 that year, for instance. I may even get a better credit for being considered a freshman or sophomore (up to $1500) than the $1000 child tax credit. I may no longer be 20 years old, but it seems that going back to school in my later years will pay off in several ways. :) Source(s): irs.gov
Ummm...no thank you, Mr. IRS Agent...
No. That way, you don't have to ever worry about
them finding you out and hunting you down.
I think some people claim more exemptions than they're allowed. At the end of the year they have to balance it out though -- they get less taxes back or owe taxes. *shrugs* Unless you go to school and learn the tax law in and out, there's really no way to get around paying your taxes. Going to school can sort of resolve how much you can get out of paying, but not completely.
