When is the date you start fileing income taxes.?

i have my last pay stub already, because im not working anymore, can file without my w2s.

The forms and instructions need to be revised following the renewal of numerous tax provisions that had expired (or were about to). Anyone who attempts to prepare a return based on what is posted at irs.gov is asking for trouble.

If you are not working, I imagine you will not wish to pay to file your return. If you think you can do your return yourself, go to irs.gov on or after January 12th, click on the FreeFile icon and select the provider which provides the lowest cost return. The IRS does not accept electronically filed returns before january 12th.

If you have a checking acount, I suggest having your refund deposited directly to there. You enter the details on the tax return, towards the bottom of page 2 (have your checkbook handy - that is where the numbers come from. Please do not copy from a deposit slip). Assuming you get your return completed and accepted by the IRS by January 18th, you will have your refund by the 26th. Realistically, that is the quickest you can receive it.

If you have any doubts about your ability to complete an accurate return, please consult a CPA or go to H & R Block. They will not finalise a return for you until the dates stated above.
I think you can, but I'm not sure. Try the IRS site.
I think you have to wait for your W-2. It has some employer information and different things on it that you need.
But to be sure, call your local H&R Block & ask them. I'm sure they'll know.
Happy Holidays!
by midnight of April 15 of each year
i say wait for your w2s to be more accurate.all w2s have to be sent no later than jan.1st.i don't think you will get anyone to do your taxes without w2s.
You would need your W2 form to verify your income, and usually every companies send those out that the beginning of every year. So expect them in the mail sometime early January. Now as to when you can file your taxes, people usually start around January (when their W2 arrived).

The IRS usually do not worry if you file your taxes early, just as long as you remember that the deadline is April 15 (unless it's the weekend, then it's due the very next business day).
G'day Rachel p,

Thank you for your question.

I have tried looking through the IRS frequently asked questions for you but I couldn't find it. They also have toll-free inquiry lines at 1-800-829-1040 for individual tax questions so give them a call on Monday.

I have attached sources for your reference.

Seasons greetings
