How much did you pay in federal income taxes for 2006? $22'338 I didn't have to pay anything back this year, actually i receieved a nice lump sum. I'd be willing to bet that most people don't know, and only think about their refund. That's the reason for the "required" payroll deduction; it keeps people from realizing how much they pay for very little in return. But it's also a question that those interested in privacy aren't likely to answer readily. About $300. I got back $88. Yes, I'm poor. too much....... For those who got money, you did not get money, it was yours to begin with, get that it is YOUR MONEY. We paid, we paid a ridiculous amount for reasons far too complicated to explain here, but it came as a result of hard work, saving each year, living way below our means and investing correctly, then when we retired we got screwed. Income taxes are illegal, the progressive tax is discriminatory and if anything else in AMerica was done in this manner it would be a criminal offense, yet we all just stand by and let them screw us. Those who got money back, were you aware that the congress was using your money for free the whole time they held it, and if you had invested it you could have made a few dollars. Withholding is criminal and needs to be shut down. If you believe you paid too much or someone else did not pay enough let me propose a solution that I believe will fit every ones bill. A sales tax or consumption tax. Lets say you make $30K and you spend about 85% of that, well you would be taxed on $25,500, whereas a person making $200K would be taxed on about $175K, no exemptions, no anything, what you spend is what you get taxed on, could easily be applied to companies and non-profits which should be paying taxes because they are not really non-profit. How long do you think it would take for the revolution to begin when some guy walks in buys a Big Mac for $12 that was $2.50 yesterday, he would grab the nearest congressman and choke him. It would be great. IT IS YOUR MONEY, NOT THIERS, START ACTING LIKE IT. |
