Do foreigners who work in Thailand pay income taxes and how many percent? |
Do foreigners who work in Thailand pay income taxes and how many percent? The gross income tax rate rangs from 5-37% Source(s): http://www.rd.go.th/publish/5938.0.html... If you have a work permit and do indeed work in the Kingdom, you had better be able to prove that you have paid taxes when you leave or have a credit card with a zdero balance and a high credit limit....you will need it....they will fine you accordingly. A higher percentage of foreigners working in Thailand pay tax than than Thais actually. Only foreigners who need a work permit to stay there beyond the toursit visa period (30 days) actually need to pay taxes. There are many ways to pay 'real' and 'below market taxes'. Many thais report lower wages to pay less or no taxes. Foreigners can too. If you travel throoghout the region regularly (Singapore, HK, Malaysia) you can just keep coming ina nd out and not get a work permit to avoid taxes. But if you plan to stay there long term - just bite the bullet and get a legal work permit, pay taxes etc. It is a big hassel. |
