Wher can i obtain a copy of my 2005 income taxes? If you call 800-TAX-1040 you can select to get information on your personal account. Enter your social. When asked what you want, press 0. You will have to press 0 at least 3 times to get the operator at this point. When you speak to a real person, tell them you want your transcripts. They will mail them and they will take 2 weeks or so. OR you can say, "I want you to fax them," or, better yet, "I want you to put me on hold, fax them, then come back and confirm the fax." (If you don't have a fax machine, you can download free software to receive faxes at jfax.com.) You also will have to confirm your identity by telling them your AGI or place where you worked or address on the return, things like that. Good luck! From The Internal Revenue Service's Website: "You have two easy and convenient options for getting copies of your federal tax return information--tax return transcripts and tax account transcripts--by phone or by mail. Request transcripts by calling 1-800-829-1040, or order by mail using IRS Form 4506T (Request for Transcript of Tax Return). We do not charge a fee for transcripts. Allow two weeks for delivery." IRS Form 4506T: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pd... http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0... You should have received a copy when you did your taxes last year. Or you might want to go to the person who did them for you they should have copies for you. |
