What if I move to mi after I file my income taxes in ga?

I live and work in smyrna ga but I am moving to michigan in febuary after I file my taxes. how will I be able to collect my taxes in
from ga while I live in Michigan?

If you are worried about geting your refund, just file a change of address with your state's department of revenue.

If you are worried about paying your Georgia taxes, just make sure you can get a copy of the form, or file them online.

Filing taxes in a year when you change states is a bit of a headache. Not only do you have to file 2 returns, but you are a special case on both of those returns. The rules aren't always the same, so you can end up paying more.
Don't move to Michigan, it's horrible here. Everything-wise.

If you're getting them through the mail you might just have to use a forward-address thing. If they're going directly to a bank account, then just leave the account open. This is an assumption though, I've never moved between states. So I might not be very helpful. ^__^
You have two options here. Number one is to file electronically and have your refund depositied electronically into a checking or savings account; or you can file a paper return and have the refund deposited electronically. Doing either of these means that your physical address does not pertain to the deposit since it goes directly to your financial institution. Number two is to file a paper return and make sure that your new address is on the return when you file it.
your 2006 tax refund will be mailed to your new michigan address. when you file your federal and state tax returns, you are allowed to have a michigan address. it doesn't mean you didn't live in georgia. your other choice would be to have it directly deposited.

now if you are moving in february 2007, your 2007 taxes will be slightly different, as you will have to separate your georgia earnings from your michigan earnings on your state returns -- you file have to file federal, georgia, and michigan returns (maybe local returns as well) but at least that is a year and a half away.
See this info: http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc157.html... on how to change your address with the IRS.
