Recently separated and I need copies of my 2005 federal income taxes-don't know accountant, how can I get it?

You should fill out form 4506 available on the www.irs.gov web site. This form explains your rights and you can request tax reports back to 4 years. You can call them on the phone, but their more than likely going to tell you to send in the form also. Hope this helps. In certain instances, you can file the form online.
Call the IRS, they provide copies, maybe for a small fee.
Call the Irs and request either a free copy which would be like printed out version of the tax information or you may request a photo copy of the original which would cost you about $39.00. Call 1-800-829-1040 between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
IRS 1-800-829-1040,

a transcript is free ( which is as good as a return) but a copy of the return will cost ya.
Instead of calling the IRS and waiting you could just call your ex. Or stop by unannounced.
