Why is my 82 yr old aunt paying state and federal income taxes? |
Why is my 82 yr old aunt paying state and federal income taxes? SI assume she recieves Social Security. ocial Security by itself is not taxable. If she has other taxable income, then part of her Social Security may be taxable too. So, its probably because she has other taxable income. Because she has "income" in some for or another. Even if it's just social security, it's still income. She must have income above the allowed amount i thought after a certain age elderly could be taxed isnt that why they have ss...havent they already paid thru do's i guess the good thing about that is she can file for taxes at the end of the year...
