Are armed forces, law enforcement members and government employee exempt from income taxes ? Income made by someone in the military in a combat zone is tax free.So sorry to have to inform you but all of these have to pay income taxes under the same rules as the rest of us. Accountant for the State I live in plus I have 2 years of tax training plus 2 years of working for H & R Block in the past. No. Only 1 exception. Wages paid to a service member who is in a combat zone are exempt from fedeal Income tax. Govt employees MAY be exempt if they are in a hostile area. |
