If I have nothing due or a refund coming for federal income taxes, do I still have to file by 4/17? Yes. So long as you had taxable income you still need to file. It really depends on your situation. Like whether or not you're a dependent or if you earned enough. but it doesn't hurt to file. so yes. you should file.
