If I work in two states in one summer, how do I file my income taxes? (Seperately or together)?

You file one Federal Return on all income earned and file State income tax returns IF the states you earned income in require a tax filing. So do, some do not.
If both states have state tax, you will file the form 1040 AND a state return for BOTH states. One would be a "non-resident" return.

All of your income would be lumped togather for federal taxes, and your state taxes would be seperate as to the state tax code for each of the amount earned in that state.
I have had to do this myself.
