I am independent contractors doing ins. exam. Does anyone have list of deductions I can take for income taxes?

Usually a self-employed person can take:

mileage, 50% of food, travel expense (hotel), tools, books, advertising, business rent and utilites

basically anything that you spend to help you make money. If you office out of your house you can take a home office deduction.
