I don't have a current income, do I need to file taxes...and if I do, how?

Hi, I am ex-military and attending college using my G.I. Bill benefits. I don't work, I just go to school full time since the monthly amount is enough to cover all my living expenses. I didn't receive a W-2 and was wondering if I need to file taxes or, since I am technically unemployed, need not worry about it. Thanks.

current income means 2007, current means now... right now
this is the tax season for calendar year 2006. the question really is did you have any income for the calendar year 2006. if you did not then you have nothing to file, so the answer would be no.... but if you had any income for calendar year 2006 even if it was for less than the minimum amount required to file, BUT you had federal income tax withheld from that income, you would not be REQUIRED to file a return. because there would be a zero tax liability, you would be entitled to a full refund of all federal tax withheld, but could only receive the refund if you ACTUALLY file a tax return for 2006.
No as long as you didn't earn any money this year.
