Here in AZ, we all know about illegals with no healthcare and low income "tax money moochers". Why should we continue to pay the way for lazy people? AHCCCS is long term here. A small few actually stop using it but others use it indefinitely.
I think the welfare system is a great thing, if it is truly needed. What I can't stand is when people abuse the system and use it just because they're lazy. I know someone like this. He's been my friend since we were little. He is very loyal to his friends and will do anything for them, but he is a fat, lazy, piece of you know what! He has a girlfriend and 3 kids and still can't keep a job! That really sickens me, but it's hopeless. Another friend of mine actually told me the other day that we should all go over to his house one day and just start eating his food. Hey, aren't we the ones paying for his groceries anyway?
The welfare system needs to be completely overhauled. I don't know of a good group who could do this fairly, but the input of sincerely needy people should be on the board in their decision. If it continues the way it's going now, then in 10-15 years no one will be able to benefit from even short-term help.
