Did you know there are 9 states with no income tax and 5 states with no sales tax? How is this possible?!? |
And two of those states have NEITHER tax!!! And one of those two states actually sends its residents a check at the end of every year - sometimes for many thousands of dollars (it was $1,106.96 for 2006)!!!!! I was shocked, JUST SHOCKED, to discover this fact - and it left me wondering: Liberals - doesn't this just make your blood boil (the unfairness of it all - I mean, shouldn't all taxes be set by the federal government)? Conservatives - does this give you hope that sanity prevails in at least some parts of the US (low taxes being equated with freedom)? SOURCES: http://www.retirementliving.com/rltaxes.... and http://www.taxadmin.org/fta/rate/tax_str... Look at the standings of those states in education, poverty, and access to health care. I you will find that they have the lowest in the country. If you have no children, have access to whatever health care you need, and willing to give up on some government services you take for granted you can move to one of those states. Well Alaska rakes in tons of cash from the oil. The other states I am sure have some way that they get the money to operate. I live in texas, we have no state income tax. We pay a slightly higher sales tax than some other states, but its totally worth it. Well, seeing as there is no consitutional reference to pay taxes it seems unfair that we all should be paying them. Oregon has no sales tax, but rapes its residents on property taxes. It doesn't make my blood boil (I'm liberal)...In fact, I think that none of the taxes I pay to the state shoudl be sent to the federal government...rather I expect them to be used to fund things like roads, schools, etc. I'm thinking of leaving Kansas because I didn't have to pay a income tax back in Alabama. What's the point in have a sales tax when you're too broke to buy anything? Please specified which States are these, I don't believe this for a minute, gimme a break, no tax! |
