Our insurance agent messed up our address for changing our insurance policy...? |
I have an agent and he works through a couple insurance companies. he wanted to switch us to save us money, but he put the wrong address and we still owe 200 to start the policy. But our current policy ends tonight, are we going to be ok to drive tomorrow? I can't get ahold of my agent because they take off at like 3 in the afternoon. I didn't know the policy was going to end tonight and my wife has to drive to work tomorrow. I also can't get ahold of anyone from the company. Any suggestions or reassurances? Um, no, you're NOT going to be ok. You haven't paid the deposit on the new policy, you have no binder, and your current policy ends at midnight. Do not drive tomorrow, or you will be uninsured. I'd STRONGLY suggest you call around, see if a local agent is open later this evening, or see if you can get some "instant insurance" at www.progressive.com or other insurance company online. Unless you have a new insurance card naming you and listing the VIN for your vehicle, when your policy runs out you will not be covered and should not drive. Your wife will have to seek alternate ways to get to work, and you will need to contact your agent in the morning to get him to fix his errors. no they all the same Use a taxi to be on the safe side. Try to find an agent that is not so difficult to reach. Do not leave this stuff until the last minute. |
