Tell me again why my taxes should pay for people who have kids before they get jobs with health insurance?

I agree with you. I think the reasoning is that the children shouldn't have to bear the burden of having idiotic parents. Two points: First, I shouldn't have to bear the cost of their idiotic parents either. Second, helping the children doesn't give the parents any incentive to stop breeding.
why do we have to pay for this stupid war Bush got us into?
You shouldn't. And neither should I.

But the government wants to CONTROL every part of our lives through high taxation and entitlements.
Better go to that to help pay for kids rather than billions of dollars be used on a war that wasn't meant to be started in Iraq. Would you like your tax dollars to be spent on life, or on death?
Because people loose jobs or have employers who decide to stop providing coverage.

Because we don't punish children when we don't like what their parents do.

Because early health care for children will save you tax dollars in the long run. Preventative care is cheaper than chronic care or emergency care. Healthy kids learn better and are more likely to be productive adults.

Because that is what we do in a civilized society.
What about those companies that are lowering health care benefits or eliminating them altogether? Get out in the real world and see what is going on.
Because it is alot harder than you think to get a job with health insurence. Or you could get fired or laid off while you are pregnant. Until you have been there you shouldn't judge others.
