My EX husband is supposed to carry health insurance on our son and he is job to job with NO health insurance? |
I also need to have our divorce papers revised. He lives in Lorain County Ohio and I live in Cuyahoga County. Anyone know of how i go about fixing this problem? Take care of the insurance yourself, but keep careful records of everything. Keep track of your ex and be sure the divorce papers follow him to every job. If he gets any kind of money from any source, file on it. Be sure IRS is aware of your divorce, they will send you any refunds he gets. He owes you a debt and you are allowed to collect it. He's only piling up more with his dodging. If he ever wants to make a life for himself, he will first have to settle with you. His back child support must be paid. As to revising the decree, see the judge. If your ex doesn't want to deal with it, the judge can do it without him. It can be handled one of two ways; in abstentia or assumed non-protest. (No-show). However, he will have to be served with a supenea. Talk to your lawyer about all this as some fees will be encurred. vote for socialized medicine...sorry but thats the best answer i got for you. Talk to the child support enforcement people in your state. They can probably help. Good Luck!!! My ex was also court ordered to provide health insurance on our three children, he never did, I complained endlessley and they never enforced it! I finally put them on State medical insurance. hire an attorney, of course *** btw, you'd best get used to your ex- not living up to all the details of the divorce order ... even a court can't get blood out of a stone. ya ... reality bites. niece has two ex-s ... neither lives up to the orders -- both claim to be 'too poor' to pay or provide, so kids are always on welfare. Depends Mostly that is a civil matter. Not like Child support laws. My advice to you, either get a job that has health insurance, or get it yourself and have him help you with the expense. If he refuses, then remind him of the divorce papers. If he refuses again, then take him to court Keep one thing in mind, the children come first. If you are doing this to get even, then you are wrong. Also, consider your ex situation. It could be his job the health insurance won't kick in for 6 months. That is why universal health care in the USA is so badly needed. Peace Jim . |
