I think I am going to get fired from my job can I quit and still get unemployment insurance? I am from CA? |
My manager is starting the paperwork process to get me fired (Citing performance issues not meeting numbers for sales) I think its a shakedown to get someone else they like in my current position. No unemployment if you quit, sometimes no unemployment if fired for cause. I am pretty sure that if you quit then you can't get the unemployment. You can if you are fired. I am not 100% sure though You will not get unemployment benefits if you quit. Wait for them to fire you. no you have to fired sorry bud. All of the answers here were incorrect regarding the QUIT issue. If you quit and have GOOD CAUSE then you may qualify for unemployment. Seven of my friends and I QUIT for just cause and we all collected unemployment. Now, what is true for either quitting OR being fired is the reason. Check the link to EEOC below. It should answer this question more fully. http://www.eeoc.gov/ |
