If you have booked and paid for a holiday with insurance, and have to cancel on medical grounds accident?

should you be able to get your money back &for your partner?
please can you advise of how to go about this.

Dollybird is right, you need to contact your insurance company, send them a letter from your doctor, saying you are unfit to travel and your partner needs to care for you. If your insurance policy is bona fida you will get your money back, less the excess, which will be in the smallprint of your policy.
you will need a doctors note stating that you are not fit to travel and you will get money back the amount depending on your policy.
If the medical condition did not exist when you took the insurance out but exists now preventing you from going, you will need to get a medical note from your doctor. The medical note should be forwarded to your insurer. Speak to your insurer for exact details on their claim procedures.
as long as it is a new medical condition and not an existing one claiming is straight forward
I had to cancel once and sent at Doctors note - no problem I got refund
