Is there an ombudsman for medical insurance company called unum?

If you have a policy with unum (or a member of a block policy) then you will have to go through their complaints procedure (detailed in the policy document). If you get no satisfaction then in their final reply they will give you details of how to contact the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) - the FOS won't do anything until you have gone through the complaints procedure.
