How do u get medical insurance for illegal immigrants in the US? You can get basic insurance for the children through the school circulated programs, in California. It doesn't rely on immigration status. Well, the question interested me enough that I spent a few minutes on the Internet, and found it is a common problem, and after going to the Blue Shield web site it looks like at least they do ask about legal residency.
