Me and my husband have separated. Will I still be covered by our medical insurance ? |
We are currently on a family medical insurance. Will I still be covered even though we are not living at the same address ? If you are going to be separated then do it legally. Get a family law attorney and do it today. why not you are not divorced just living in two different domains. absolutely...but contact a lawyer...if he is paying part of the premium for coverage he must continue to pay at least through a divorce settlement. You need to consult a lawyer. But, in several states as long as the company he works for holds a family policy, and you are listed you could be. This is for everyone in State and local government jobs. Private companies may differ. It is most likely, if you did a legal seperation have your lawyer check the fine print. A friend of mine was still covered but had to pay for her half of his monthly deductible (from his paycheck). If it is not a legal seperation he can take you off but only during the annual enrollment period. Yes as long as the premium is paid there shouldn't be a problem. Since you're married he is still responsible for you. |
