I am doing a research paper on this question for my Human Services class.
Visit the link below, which takes you to the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services. In section 1 click on your state, and in section 2 click on "State Medical Assistance Office," leaving the rest of the sections blank. This will display the Medicaid office for your state, which should be able to advise you on available health insurance programs and eligibility requirements.
